Hi everyone and welcome to my Corner!
Today I am starting an in-depth study of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, including The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, Unfinished Tales, The Fall of Gondolin, Beren and Luthien, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings. I’m using this website to calculate how I should read the books. Most likely, I will create a family tree of everyone in the story, as well as a map, an encyclopedia, and a timeline.
I just started reading the books today, treasure chest full of books, a notebook, my Tolkien magazine, and my computer by my side, listening to an Enya album. After the first day of reading, here is my progress:
It will be so satisfying when I finally read these words…
Your friend,
Christopher
Great post! This might be impossible to answer, but would you say that one book in particular resonated with you more than the rest from all the books you mentioned: The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, Unfinished Tales, The Fall of Gondolin, Beren and Luthien, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings? I’m sure you appreciate something from each, but does one stand above the rest? You know…one book to rule them all? 😉
