Hello everyone and welcome to my Corner!
The encyclopedia is getting quite extensive. It now takes me a while to scroll through it all when I’m looking for something. Also, I’ve listened to over twenty-four hours of Enya on Spotify! It drives my little brother crazy.
Since the parts of The Silmarillion and Beren and Luthien tell the same story, the reading plan I’m using has me read part of Beren and Luthien before I’m finished with The Silmarillion. That section is finally coming up, and I’m so glad to be switching books for a change.
(My poor, unsuspecting hair was bleached by joining a swim club at that time)
During a Lord of the Rings book club a few years ago, I designed a “Tolkien chest” to put the other projects in. Now, I use it to lug around my eleven books. It looks a bit knocked about now, but it adds to the effect. I tried to paint it so that it looked like a wizard like Saruman had tried to get into it, with burn marks on the top, the latch, and the edges of the lid. Painted on the chest, I have a dwarvish diagram of the Lonely Mountain, a drawing of Smaug, and the Tolkien logo. They still look really good.
Your friend,
Christopher
