Ugh, I had to return Unfinished Tales to the library again, so I had to take out all my sticky notes. Then, when I got it back, I had to put the sticky notes back in again. It was a nightmarish job, but I got through it.
I’m finally getting to the events of the Lord of the Rings! I just read a part in the Appendix of The Return of the King that describes the meeting of Aragorn and Arwen. They meet in the forests, and he sees her dancing. Same old story as with Thingol and Melian and Beren and Luthien. Like I explained in an earlier post, she’s hundreds of years older than he is. Even though they look about the same age, he looks into her eyes and he sees the wisdom of long ages past, and he says (I’m paraphrasing), “Wow, you look really great!” Then she slaps him (just kidding).
