Morning Nuggets with Mister Rogers- Take Time To Wonder and Reflect

Good morning!

Yesterday’s post was an encouragement to slow down even though it seems as if everything around us pulls us to go faster. I am a person who likes to do a lot, see a lot, plan a lot; but with each passing birthday (and the addition of each gray hair…ahem), I realize more and more that when I say ‘Yes’ to one thing, I’m saying ‘No’ to another. So, it’s just a matter of keeping priorities clear and knowing there are different seasons for accomplishing things. It doesn’t all have to be at once!

Amy Hollingsworth shares some words by Mister Rogers in The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: “…our world needs more time to wonder and to reflect about what is inside, and if we take time we can often go much deeper as far as our spiritual life is concerned than we can if there’s constant distraction. And often television gives such constant distraction–noise and fast-paced things–which doesn’t allow us to take time to explore the deeper levels of who we are–and who we can become.”

There you have it!

Let’s look for a few little moments in our day to cut out the noise of constant distractions, shall we?

Have a good one!
