Learning about ants and their intriguing ways are a must during ‘A’ week. But why not read about ants AND history at the same time? One of the milestones our family reached last year was publishing a book about history seen through the eyes of animals, Animals in Time. This is a resource that naturally fits into our letter-of-the-week educational method with our little learners. Read below to learn more about this little ant named Alex…

Alex- my heart throb! My favorite ant in the whole world is Alex the Ant! Victoria (age 9) has melted my heart with the way she has illustrated this little guy. Alex catches a ride on one of the ships of Christopher Columbus and goes for the ride of his life!

Here’s what one of the parents shared after using Animals in Time with her children (ages 9, 7, & 3) – “We loved all the beautiful drawings! The story was perfect for everyone, and inspired us to look into how Christopher Columbus died, what his ship looked like, what Puerto Rico looks like, longitude and latitude, finding Spain, Puerto Rico, India and America on the map, and many other things.”

Take your kids on adventures through American history with animals with ANIMALS IN TIME: Twenty-six A-Z stories illustrated all by kids!
