MAKE A COLOR WHEEL!
This is the third color activity we did during ‘C’ week.
We first watched an animated demonstration on youtube by Kaleena Persyn called The Color Wheel. This video was shared on youtube channel – Roomofplasticflowers.
These basic colors can be organized this way:
Primary Colors – RED, YELLOW, BLUE
Secondary Colors – ORANGE, GREEN, PURPLE
Warm Colors – RED, ORANGE, YELLOW
Cool Colors – BLUE, GREEN, PURPLE
Materials :
- Printable Color Wheel
- Paints in the primary colors (red, yellow, and blue)
- Paint Brush
- Cup for water / paper towel for blotting brush before changing colors
- Paper plate
Step 1 : Squirt a small amount of primary colored paint on a paper plate, leaving enough room between colors to mix the colors to make secondary colors (green, purple, orange).
Step 2 : Choose a primary color to put in any of the sections of the color wheel. Let’s say you begin with blue… Paint a section of wheel blue, and then fill in the appropriate boxes below the wheel before washing out brush. In this case, with the color blue, the boxes to be filled would be a ‘primary color’ and a ‘cool color.’
Step 3 : Hang up your beautiful colors to dry!
Here are the other three color activities:
